David Feng to leave Koelnmesse China

Managing Director Feng has contributed substantially to the expansion of Koelnmesse's China business since 2002

David Feng, 50, Managing Director of the subsidiary Koelnmesse Co. Ltd., Beijing, will be leaving Koelnmesse.

The globally operating trade fair company Koelnmesse established a subsidiary in Beijing in 2002. Feng, who has contributed substantially to the expansion of Koelnmesse's China business from the very start, reached an agreement with the Koelnmesse Executive Board this week to leave the company and take on new professional challenges.

David Feng was working for Koelnmesse's foreign representation in China when, in 2002, he was appointed Managing Director of the subsidiary in Beijing and head of the Koelnmesse offices in Guangzhou and Shanghai. Koelnmesse's China portfolio has grown since then, and today it encompasses seven trade shows. "David Feng worked to build up Koelnmesse on the Chinese market in difficult times. Today this market is one of the key pillars of our internationalization strategy. Feng has helped to write an important chapter in the history of Koelnmesse. We are very grateful to him for that," said Gerald Böse, CEO and President, to honour the achievements of the long-serving Managing Director.

David Feng hands over his responsibilities to Mathias Küpper, the new temporary head of the subsidiary. Küpper, 41, has served as the Managing Director of the Koelnmesse subsidiary in Singapore since the beginning of this year. The search for a successor is under way.
