Our services for accredited journalists

Numerous services will be available to all accredited journalists during the trade fair events in order to support their work and provide fast and smooth communication:

Services in the Press Center

  • Issue of press passes, parking permits, and catalogues (please pay attention to the general accreditation regulations )
  • Display of Koelnmesse press releases and press material from the exhibiting companies
  • PC workstations for journalists with high speed Internet access, office, e-mail, burner, printer
  • LAN and W-LAN workstations for mobile PCs/laptops (free of charge)
  • Photocopiers, lockers (accept €2 coins)
  • Press Café
  • Parking for journalists (near Press Center)

Koelnmesse TV service

Free rough recordings are offered to all TV channels for broadcasting at two different times in the case of large trade fairs, and once for smaller events (mostly on the first day of the fair):

  • News edit: 10 to 15-minute rough cut of the trade fair highlights (mostly interviews, images of the new product event, or information on initial trends at the fair), which will be available in advance or at the latest on the first day of the fair.

  • Video news release: 20-30-minute rough cut of all trade fair trends and interviews (in various languages), available on the second or third day of the fair, depending on the length of the event.

  • News edit and/or video news release recordings can be sent by satellite, server or courier (on tape), as desired. Customers can also pick up the tape themselves if they prefer. We record films using a 16:9 aspect ratio. We generally transfer the clips to Beta digital or analogue tapes. Other formats can be provided, if desired.

  • Special requests of individual broadcasters can also be taken into account by prior arrangement.
  • If needed, an ENG team and an editing suite, including a cutter, can be rented. Please provide notification (at least 24 hours in advance) if you need this service.

Koelnmesse radio service

Koelnmesse offers radio stations the option of downloading broadcast-ready audio material in MP3 format for their reporting, free of charge.
The radio service can be accessed via the Press section of the trade fair website, no later than the first day of the trade fair. Here, reports and original sound footage can be listened to and downloaded (MP3, 128Kb, mono).
The available materials include complete broadcast-ready features (between 0:30 and 3:30 min.), as well as other audio features such as original sound footage, talks with colleagues, news reports, moderated discussions with original sound clips, collages, and interviews related to the trade fair. Separate reports or audio features can also be produced upon request to fit individual needs.
